Camps on Kilimanjaro

We’ve done the climb ourselves, so we know what it takes to make your adventure unforgettable. On our preferred routes, you’re away from the busy huts of the “Coca Cola” route, so you’ll stay in dome tents. Each day you’ll leave camp, and an hour or so later see your porters wave as they stride past you. By the time you reach your destination, your camp will have been rebuilt, and a cup of tea on offer. The tents have been specially designed to make you as comfortable as possible. There are special ground sheets to keep you (and your kit) dry, sleeping mats to keep the cold out, and hot water bottles to keep you toasty at night. There are private loos for each of our climb parties, and a cosy mess tent for evening meals.

Food and facilities

Even our simplest climbs set the standard for luxury on Kilimanjaro, and the optional extras will make you the envy of everyone on the mountain. Piping hot showers at 5,000 metres? No problem. A solar charger so you can remain plugged in all the way to the top? Easy. A personal porter to carry your day bag? Done. Safety precautions are rigorous and guides both experienced and entertaining. Food is hearty and delicious, and more than enough to tempt you to eat your 4,000 calories each day, even at altitude.

Routes on Kilimanjaro Climbs

We can arrange climbs by any of the routes up the mountain, from the beautiful Machame Route, the gentle Lemosho Route, or even approaching by the daunting Western Breach. On all, we recommend climbing as slowly as possible, giving yourself a chance to acclimatise, and enjoy the stunning views along the way. Just remember: pole pole (Swahili for slowly, slowly)!
