This classic safari and beach combination gives you amazing game viewing encounters in the Selous Game Reserve, and plenty of R&R on the beach on Tanzania's beautiful north coast. Finish with two nights wandering the ancient alleyways of Stone Town on Zanzibar.

   DAR ES SALAAM
   Fly from London overnight to Dar es Salaam.

   THE BUSH
   On arrival, switch to a smaller plane for your light aircraft flight down to the bush, and be sure to look out for wildlife as you land- it’s not unusual to chase giraffe from the airstrip. Spend three nights at Impala Camp enjoying game drives, walking safaris, boat trips, fishing, and fly-camping under the stars.

   TANGA
   Take a light aircraft flight from the Selous up to Tanga, a sleepy town on Tanzania’s north coast.  From here, wind gently down through the sisal plantations and villages to pretty little Pangani. Spend five nights at The Tides Lodge pottering along the beach, snorkelling, and (if you’re lucky), catching the tiny turtles as they hatch.

   ZANZIBAR
   From Pangani, fly on to Zanzibar and the relative hustle and bustle of Stone Town. Spend two nights here at charming little Beyt al Chai. Hone your bartering skills in the shops, watch the sun set from a rooftop bar, and eat freshly caught fish from the seafront barbeques.

   DAR ES SALAAM
   On your last morning, rise with the early morning mosque call, and catch a flight at first light to Dar es Salaam. Here, connect on to your flight back to London, arriving in the late afternoon.
