3 nightsSAVUTE

Prepare for predator central as you venture into Chobe National Park’s beautiful area of Savute, where you’ll spend two nights alongside the game-rich Savute Channel. This is another chance for a classic plains safari: following in the footsteps of Livingstone, who first hunted here in the 1850s, and seeing thrilling clashes between lion and buffalo for which the region is famed. You’ll also learn about Bushmen paintings, volcanic outcrops and the temperamental Savute Channel, which was dry for thirty years and now attracts a myriad of incredible birdlife including herons, waders, and the stunning fish eagle.

You’ll now have a short light aircraft flight to the Moremi Game Reserve – a peninsula within the Okavango Delta that’s made up of plains, forest, lagoons, and is home to some of the most exciting game in Africa. Because relatively few safari vehicles visit here, you’ll find the game incredibly relaxed, and as you head out on game drives you’ll have a high chance of ticking off the Big Five. Leopard sightings are particularly common here, and as you leave the open floodplains for the cathedral-like mopane forests, your guides will keep their eyes peeled for black rhino which were recently reintroduced.

On the final leg of your Botswana journey, you’ll be flown to the famous Nxabega concession in the Okavango Delta. With a mixture of water and land activities, you’ll easily while away several hours at a time watching huge herds of elephant as they drink and wallow in the river. This is also a great opportunity to relax during a sunset boat cruise and paddle along the waterways in a moroko, spotting  some of the incredible birdlife flying overhead.

From here, you'll head to the Zambia border, where you’ll have a spectacular finale at Victoria Falls. Falling at a height of 108 metres, and spanning 1,708 metres wide, the “smoke that thunders” cannot fail to blow you away; at certain times of the year, brave souls can also swim in the legendary “Devil’s Pool” which sits right beside the precipice. You’ll have a night of luxury at the elegant and colonial, Royal Livingstone, where you’ll not only have beautiful views of the Zambezi River, but have magical encounters with the nearby wildlife. At the end of your adventure, you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight home.
