Mufasa

Lake Malawi | Malawi

At 365 miles long, and 52 miles wide, Lake Malawi (“the calendar lake”) takes up much of the country’s surface, yet few visitors ever see beyond its shores.  Mufasa, a 38 foot yacht with room for up to ten guests, offers the perfect way to head out and explore the water. Captained by Howard Massey Hicks, Mufasa is yours to explore with as you will, for a night, a week, or even a ten day sail.

Perfect for

Yachties, older families, and groups of friends.

Where

Lake Malawi, wherever you choose to sail her.

Rooms at Mufasa

Four double and two single berths. Like all cabins, these could hardly be described as spacious- but you’re unlikely to be spending much time below deck!

Food and facilities

Like much of life aboard Mufasa, meals are generally outdoors, either on the deck or on one of the many tiny islands that stud the lake. There’s fishing tackle, snorkels and masks on board. With a little warning, we can even arrange for diving kit for guests who want to explore beneath the water as well as above.

Activities on Mufasa

Swimming and snorkelling in the lake, fishing, sailing, and barbeques on secluded beaches.

In the know

The drive down to the lake from Malawi is a beautiful one, but rather than doing it two ways, a few days aboard Mufasa will take you across the lake to the other shore, where we can arrange for you to be collected.
